Game Components of Would I Lie to You?
How To Setup Would I Lie to You?
To set up the game, place the board in the center of the table and divide the players into two teams. Each team selects a playing piece and places it at the foot of one of the ladders on the board, which serves as a scoring device. The other playing pieces of the same color are used by the teams to move around the board and are placed on the START arrow. Lay out the card sets on their respective squares on the board. Each team takes a pencil and a sheet from the pad.
Gameplay Mechanics and Game Objective
– A player rolls the die, moves their piece, and picks up a Quickfire Lie card.
– They have 10 seconds to create a false version of the second half of the fact on the card.
– The player reads out both the real and false versions, and the opposing team decides which is true.
– Correct guesses score a point for the guessing team; incorrect guesses score for the bluffing team.
– The spokesperson takes a Ring of Truth card and shows the fact to their team members.
– Each team member writes their own version of the second half of the fact within 60 seconds.
– The spokesperson reads out all versions, including the real one, and the guessing team decides which is true.
– A player picks up a This Is… card, which can be either true or false.
– If it’s a lie, the player must invent a plausible ending to the fact and describe a related image.
– The opposing team questions the player and decides whether the fact is true or false.
