Gondor: The Siege of Minas Tirith (1977)

The Siege of Minas Tirith

“The Siege of Minas Tirith” is a 1975 board wargame designed by Richard Jordison and published by Fact and Fantasy Games. It depicts both the Battle of Pelennor Fields and the siege of Minas Tirith from the novel “The Return of the King” by J.R.R. Tolkien. The game is popular and significant because it allows players to replicate the events of the trilogy and experience the strategic and tactical challenges faced during the siege of Minas Tirith.

Game Components of The Siege of Minas Tirith:

– 17″ x 22″ paper hex grid map of Minas Tirith and the surrounding plains

– Two charts

Game Objective of The Siege of Minas Tirith:

The attacking player wins by eliminating all Minas Tirith defenders inside the city and defeating all arriving reinforcements. The defenders of the city win by preventing a victory by Sauron.
