Tolkien’s novel “The Hobbit,” specifically the part where Bilbo Baggins and a group of dwarves attempt to steal treasure from the dragon Smaug, who has taken up residence in the Lonely Mountain. Each player controls a group of adventurers consisting of dwarves, elves, men, orcs, or freebooters, and the objective is to steal as much of Smaug’s treasure as possible.

Game Setup of The Lonely Mountain

Gameplay Mechanics of The Lonely Mountain
Players take turns rolling dice and moving their pieces around the board. When a player lands on a space with a treasure token, they can attempt to steal it by drawing an encounter card. Encounter cards can contain traps, monsters, or other obstacles that the player must overcome to claim the treasure. If a player successfully steals a treasure, they can add it to their score. The game ends when all the treasure has been claimed or when Smaug awakens and attacks the players.
