How To Setup Regatta
To set up Regatta, players start by determining the order of play through a dice roll, with the player rolling the highest number going first. Each player then selects a yacht and positions it behind the starting line on any available space, avoiding any space that would allow them to “blanket” another yacht. The starting line is marked by placing the Committee Boat and one of the Course Marks two spaces apart for each boat. The initial phase involves 7 moves to position the boats optimally before the race officially starts from the 8th move.

Personal Thoughts on Regatta
Regatta is an excellent choice for families or casual gamers looking to dive into a sailing-themed game. It’s particularly suited for those who enjoy racing games and are willing to learn some basic sailing concepts. While it may not be as complex or deeply strategic as some other board games, it provides a fun and engaging experience that can appeal to a broad audience. However, it might not be the best fit for players seeking games with minimal luck or those who prefer games with simpler rulesets.
