PÜNCT (2005) Board Game

PÜNCT is an abstract strategy board game designed by Kris Burm and released in in 2005. The game is part of the GIPF Project, a series of six games that share a common theme and aesthetic. Subsequent turns allow placement in any rotational orientation, subject to the rules of occupying three spaces and not stacking pieces on the first placement.

## Gameplay Mechanics and Game Objective
– **Objective**: Connect two opposite sides of the hexagonal board.
– **Turn Structure**: Players can either place a new piece on the board or move an existing piece.
– **Piece Movement**: Pieces can be moved along straight lines radiating from the PÜNCT, and they can be rotated. Pieces can also be stacked on top of each other, provided the PÜNCT of the moving piece is on a free space or on one’s own piece.
– **Stacking**: Pieces can be built up in multiple levels, allowing players to sever opponent’s chains by moving pieces atop them.
