PÜNCT is a two-player strategy board game that is part of the GIPF project, a series of seven abstract strategy games created by Kris Burm.

Game Setup of PÜNCT

To set up the game, players:
– Place the hexagonal board in the center of the table.
– Each player chooses a color and takes 18 playable pieces.
– The first player places a piece on the board, and the game begins.

Gameplay Mechanics of PÜNCT

The objective of PÜNCT is to connect two opposite sides of the hexagonal board using pieces that cover three hexes each. Players can place, move, rotate, and stack pieces in various ways, restricted by the geometry of the board, the shape of the pieces, and gravity. The game is played in turns, with players either bringing new pieces to the board or attempting to connect pieces already in play.
