How To Setup Nemesis
Players start by waking up from hibernation in the hibernatorium, finding one crew member dead and the ship in critical condition. Each player receives a player number, two secret objectives (one personal and one corporate), and drafts their character. Each character comes with a deck of action cards, a starting item, ammo cubes, and two quest items. The game board consists of 14 rooms, with 9 core rooms and 5 additional utility rooms. The first player token is assigned, and player minis are placed in the hibernatorium along with a token representing a dead comrade.

Player Experience
Nemesis offers a highly immersive and thematic experience, blending cooperation, bluffing, and backstabbing. Players must navigate the dangers of the ship, manage resources, and make strategic decisions while dealing with the threat of alien intruders. The game’s semi-cooperative mode adds a layer of complexity, as players must balance their own objectives with the need to work together to survive. The noise mechanic and contamination system add significant tension and realism to the gameplay.

Personal Thoughts on Nemesis
Nemesis is ideal for fans of sci-fi horror and complex board games. It is perfect for players who enjoy strategic gameplay, cooperative and competitive elements, and a high level of immersion. However, due to its complex rules and challenging nature, it may not be the best fit for casual or new board game players. The game’s unique mechanics and thematic design make it a standout in the board game community, offering a rewarding experience for those willing to invest the time to learn and master it.
