Lexicant is a paper and pencil word game for two players, invented by James Thurber and his circle of friends. The game involves writing a letter on a sheet of paper and taking turns adding a letter either to the beginning or the end of an ever-growing word stem. Players must create a word with at least three or four letters, and the first player to create a word loses. The game can be played with paper and pencil or simply spoken aloud.
