How To Setup KAPOW!

To set up the game, players first determine who will play as the hero and who will play as the villain. Each player receives a Player screen, board, Character board, and health tracker. The Character board outlines the player’s starting dice pool, health, and unique abilities. Players start with twenty health and a handful of Trait dice and an Action die. The Action dice have removable faces that can be customized during the game. After deciding the starting player and handing them the First Player token, the game is ready to begin.

Gameplay Mechanics and Game Objective

Ability Selection: Players roll their dice and assign them to various abilities on their boards.

Attack and Defend: Players use their dice to attack and defend in turn order.

Power Up: Players can power up their abilities and gain additional dice or faces.

Post-Combat Effects: Actions that occur after the combat phase.

Cleanup: End of the round, preparing for the next round.

Objective: Reduce the opponent’s health to zero to win the game.

For the 2v2 mode:

Teammates share a single health counter.

Team-Up cards require coordination between teammates to activate.

Each team completes their phase before the other team.
