Finance

The board game “Finance” was originally released in 1932 and is based on “The Landlord’s Game,” which dates back to the early 20th century. The game was created by Dan Layman, who played with Louis, Louis, and Fred Thun’s version of the auction-monopoly games that had been spawned from The Landlord’s Game at Williams College in Reading, Pennsylvania. Layman later commercialized the game and started selling it in 1932.

Why is Finance Popular?

Finance is a popular board game because it is a predecessor to Monopoly, one of the best-selling board games in history. The game shares similar mechanics with Monopoly, such as moving pieces around the board, using cards, purchasing properties, and erecting houses on them. However, Finance also has some unique features, such as railroads that may not be purchased.
