    How To Setup Faeries & Magical Creatures

    To set up the game, players choose a color and take a garden/score board, a set of colored markers and tokens, and starting cards. The game board is placed in the middle. The faerie deck is shuffled, and cards equal to the player count plus one are drawn and placed. Garden polyominoes equal to the player count are also drawn. The first player is chosen, and each player receives their initial hand of cards.

  • Action Selection: Each turn, players choose one of five actions: Place a token, choose/play a garden polyomino, draft a card, draw up to 5 cards in hand, or play a card. All players perform the same action, but the active player gets to play a card from their hand.

  • Tile Placement: Players place garden polyominoes on their personal board to cover bonus squares and create a garden path. Tiles can be placed path-side up or garden-side up, with garden-side up tiles scoring extra points if connected to the path.
  • Area Control: Players place kinship tokens in five different areas representing magical creatures. The player with the most tokens in an area scores points for all tokens there.
  • Game Objective: The goal is to score the most victory points by arranging the garden, befriending faeries, and establishing kinships with magical creatures.
