How To Setup Criss Cross

To set up Criss Cross, each player receives a score sheet and a pencil. Each player writes a unique symbol from the six available (slash, X, circle, triangle, hamburger, and octothorpe) in the highlighted space at the top-left corner of their score sheet. Ensure each player has a different starting symbol.

Players roll the dice and enter the symbols into their score sheets.

Symbols must be placed next to each other and one symbol must touch an already placed symbol.

The game is played over 12 rounds or until all spaces on the score sheets are filled.

Points are awarded for groups of like symbols in each row, column, and (in the advanced version) the diagonal line.
– 2 points for each directly adjacent pair of symbols
– 3 points for each directly adjacent 3 of a kind
– 8 points for each directly adjacent 4 of a kind
– 10 points for each 5-of-a-kind
– -5 points for any row, column, or diagonal that scores 0 points (in the advanced version)
