How To Setup Cosmic Encounter
To set up the game, each player chooses a color and takes the corresponding five player planets, arranging them as desired. Each player places four of their ships on each of their planets and their player colony marker next to the warp at the “0” mark. Players then shuffle the flare cards and deal two to each player, who secretly chooses one alien power to play. Each player is dealt a hand of eight cards from the cosmic deck. The destiny deck is prepared by removing cards that refer to unused player colors, and the first player is determined by drawing from the destiny deck until a player color is drawn.
