Winds of Plunder is a pirate-themed board game released in in 2007. Designed by Knut Grünitz, Mike Lemick, Rodger B. MacGowan, and Mark Simonitch, the game is set in the golden age of piracy and allows players to take on the role of infamous pirates vying for control of the high seas.

How To Setup Winds of Plunder
To set up the game, players start by determining their starting ports using cards, placing their ships, and allocating cubes to the tracks for Weapons, Crew, Provisions, and Booty. Each player receives a compass tile, ten Wind cubes, and a scoring disc. The remaining sixteen Wind cubes are placed in the reserve supply. Eighteen Victory Point tiles are shuffled and placed face up in the twelve ports, with the other six tiles in a tile rotation bar. Buried Treasure cards and Action cards are also shuffled and placed nearby. The wind arrow is set to point north, and the round marker is placed on the first space of the game round track. Four advantage tiles are positioned near the board to complete the setup.
