KLASK (2014) Board Game

KLASK is a fast-paced tabletop game that was designed by Mikkel Bertelsen and released in 2014 by Klask ApS. The game has gained popularity for its action-packed gameplay and simple rules, making it a favorite among players of all ages.

Game Components of KLASK

  • Game board shaped like a ball field
  • Two deep holes functioning as goals at each end
  • Three white magnetic pieces as obstacles
  • Two black magnetic gaming pieces, each in two parts (one under the board and one on top)
  • A small, red plastic ball
  • Coins for scoring
  • Magnetic handles for controlling the gaming pieces

    How To Setup KLASK

To set up KLASK, place the game board on a table between the two players. Position the three white magnetic pieces on their designated fields in the middle of the board. Each player receives a black magnetic gaming piece, with the short part on top of the board and the long part under it, ensuring the two parts are magnetically connected. Place the ball in the corner start field. Players also set up coins in the point slots next to the “0” mark. The youngest player starts the game.

    Gameplay Mechanics and Game Objective

  • Objective: Score points by getting the ball into the opponent’s goal or by causing the opponent to lose control of their gaming piece.
  • Scoring:
    – Ball ends in opponent’s hole and stays there.
    – Two or more white magnetic pieces stick to opponent’s gaming piece.
    – Opponent accidentally pulls their gaming piece into their own goal.
    – Opponent loses control of their gaming piece.

  • Gameplay: Players use large magnets under the board to control their gaming pieces and steer the ball. The game continues until one player reaches six points.

    Player Experience

KLASK is known for its immediate and intense gameplay. It requires quick reflexes and strategic thinking to avoid the white magnetic obstacles while trying to score. The game is highly engaging and can be played in short, 10-minute rounds, making it ideal for quick matches and tournaments. Despite its simplicity, KLASK offers a surprising depth of strategy due to the sensitive magnetic discs and the need for precise control.
