    How To Setup Marrakesh

    To set up Marrakesh, start by placing the main board and populating it with grey, pink, yellow, and orange Scrolls; Luxury Goods; and randomly selected Exchange Offices. Gates are drawn and placed on Workshop spaces, and River tiles are divided by season and randomly selected. Each player receives a Player board, Oasis tiles, an Audience disk, resources (water, dates, gold), and a full set of keshis and assistants. Players also get Provision tiles and place their assistants on designated spaces on the main board. The keshis are placed in a bag, shaken, and distributed to players. Finally, a Start player is selected and given the Season and Round trackers.

    Gameplay Mechanics and Game Objective

  • Action Selection: Players secretly select three keshis from behind their screens and place their assistants on corresponding sectors of their Player boards.
  • Keshi Drafting: Selected keshis are dropped into the tower, and the ones that fall out are drafted by players to enhance their board actions.
