Each player starts with a Tribe mat, a Placement card, 20 Huts, a Marking Stone, two starter Gathering tiles, three Scout pawns, and a random starter Invention card. Players place their Gathering tiles on the tracks of their Tribe mat and position their Marking Stone on the marked space of their Placement card. Each player receives a random Task card and places it face down on their Placement card. Finally, players place one Scout on the Fire space in Region 1, another on the zero space of the score track, and the third on the marked location in the Hut track.
