How To Setup Shinobi
To set up the game, each player chooses one of the six clans and takes the corresponding 4 colored attack cards, 3 attack markers, and 5 life counters. The first player is determined and given the start player pawn. Each player is now ready to engage in the ninja war.
Gameplay Mechanics and Game Objective
– Assign Attacks: Players attack the three players to their right by giving each a face-down attack card and declaring the weapon used (which can be a bluff).
– Resolve Attacks/Denounce Attackers: Players resolve attacks by revealing two of the three attack cards. If the attacks are the same, the player loses a life counter. Players can denounce attackers for “Incompetence” or “Plotting” to counter the attacks, but this comes with risks if the denouncement is incorrect.
Player Experience
**Shinobi** is a fast-paced and simple game that packs a punch in terms of strategy and bluffing. Players must be cunning and observant, as the game relies heavily on reading opponents and making calculated bluffs. The game is quick, lasting about 15-20 minutes, making it an excellent filler game for any gaming session.
