Shuffle the **Story 2** cards and place them in the top left hand corner of the playing surface, then shuffle the **Story 1** cards and place them on top of the **Story 2** cards. Shuffle the **Loot** cards and place them in the top center. Lay out the **character cards** (excluding Robin Hood) face down on the top right hand corner, and place the **Robin Hood** card in front of you. The **King Richard** cards are placed face down underneath the character cards, and the **Sherwood Forest** cards are placed face down underneath the **King Richard** cards. Set the **bounty tracker** on the bottom left corner and the **coin token** to the desired difficulty level (green for easy, yellow for normal, red for hard). Finally, draw the top 3 **Loot** cards as your beginning hand.
