Rettah chess

Introduction

Rettah chess is a chess variant created by V.R. Parton. The game is popular and significant because it offers a unique twist on traditional chess by introducing the concept of rettahs, which are powerful pieces that can capture other rettahs.

Game Components of Rettah chess

Board

A 10×10 board is used in the game.

Pieces

Each player has two rettahs (kings) and two queens. There are also six other pieces: bishop, unicorn, knight, and rook.

Game Setup of Rettah chess

Each player places their rettahs and queens on the board. The remaining pieces are placed on the board according to the chosen variant. Pawns are placed on the board in front of the rettahs.
