Swords & Sorcery

“Swords & Sorcery” is a fantasy-themed board wargame published by Simulations Publications, Inc. (SPI) in 1978, subtitled “Quest and Conquest in the Age of Magic”. The game was designed by Greg Costikyan and developed by Eric Goldberg, with graphical design provided by Redmond A. Simonsen and artwork by Tim Kirk. The game gained popularity due to the rise of fantasy role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons and RuneQuest in the mid
– and late 1970s, and it was a finalist for the Charles S. Roberts Award for “Best Fantasy / Futuristic Board Game of 1978” at the 1979 Origins Awards.
